Are you profoundly dissatisfied by the status quo and determined to change it?
Dramatically improving urban schools is a national
priority. It will not happen, cannot happen, unless the
trustees who govern urban schools have the knowledge,
political skills, and courage to become effective policy
leaders. Training urban trustees for reform leadership is a
high-leverage opportunity for improving the nation’s major
urban school districts.
Good governance does not guarantee effective school
districts. But without good governance, effective school
districts are the exception not the rule.
The mission of the Center for Reform of School Systems is to teach school board members and superintendents how to transform their districts for high student achievement.
