New RGA Cohort Begins Training

The Center for Reform of School Systems and The Broad Foundation have selected five new school districts to receive training in Reform Governance® in Action.

The five districts include Antioch Unified School District in California, Elizabeth Public Schools in New Jersey, Houston Independent School District in Texas, Memphis City Schools in Tennessee, and the School District of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.

The five districts represent the fourth cohort to be selected under the reform program. The districts applied for the training and were chosen based on a rigorous review of quality, unity, and commitment of the school board to the program, along with the district’s focus on improving student achievement.

During the program’s two-year cycle, boards redesign the district for sustainable high student achievement by approving and implementing a wide range of policies to improve board operations and oversight of management.  CRSS also helps the districts clarify their core beliefs to turn them into effective agents for change.
