CRSS has taken its highly rated flagship training program - originally developed for America’s largest urban school districts - and redesigned it to suit the specific needs of medium-sized Texas districts.
Since launching in early 2009, this three-phase, 15-month program has provided an in-depth learning experience for board members, superintendents, and senior administrators from school districts that fall outside the orbit of the state’s largest urban areas. With funding from a Texas foundation, the program is offered at no cost to eligible school districts. Leadership teams from 48 districts across the state of Texas are invited to apply.
This specially tailored version of our long-term Reform Governance® in Action (RGA) program has been streamlined to lessen the time commitment. But our core curriculum, proven, case-based teaching methods, and rigid quality standards for our faculty and RGA trainers remain intact.
The RGA program is designed for board-superintendent teams who are committed to high student achievement and effective, forward-thinking governance. Over the course of the training, participants dig deeply into the real challenges facing school district governance teams struggling to improve student achievement, district operations, and civic engagement. Faculty and team members also explore ways to close the achievement gaps in their school districts and assure that they meet the education challenges of the 21st century.
To date, the following school district leadership teams have been chosen to participate in the program: Abilene Independent School District; College Station Independent School District; Little Elm Independent School District; Marshall Independent School District; Nacogdoches Independent School District; San Angelo Independent School District; Tyler Independent School District; Waco Independent School District, Weatherford Independent School District; and Wichita Falls Independent School District.
