Training Programs and Customized Solutions

Our programs and services are designed to help school boards transform their districts and prepare our children for the 21st century.

CRSS is the premier provider of comprehensive training programs and individualized consulting services for school district leaders who are committed to being effective agents for change.

These programs and services are based on the Reform Governance^® framework developed by former school board member Don McAdams in his book, What School Boards Can Do.  

The Reform Governance^® framework provides the conceptual basis for CRSS’s entire body of education, training, and consulting.  Each component of the framework represents an important area of your school board’s responsibilities.

A Growing Roster of Dynamic Training Programs

CRSS offers programs in Texas and nationwide:

• Reform Governance^® in Action for Urban School Boards is designed for the 100 largest districts in the nation.  This program is sponsored by the Broad Foundation and participation is by invitation. 
• Reform Governance^® in Action for Mid-Urban Texas School Boards, our newest offering, is a program specially tailored to meet the needs of medium-sized districts.  This program is sponsored by a Texas Foundation and participation is by invitation. 
• The Texas Institute for School Boards provides a premier induction experience to first-time board members from the 57 largest urban districts here in our home state.
• The Texas Fellows Alumni Program provides ongoing services for school board members who have completed our Texas Institute training.
• The TFA / CRSS School Board Fellows Program is a joint project that trains Teach For America’s alumni members how to be effective school board members.
• Governance_Solutions is the newest program offering customized, "Just in Time" training and consulting services.
